Mission Bay RV Resort

First stop, Legoland! The kids have been waiting for this one for a long time. The best thing about Legoland was all the things built with Lego, very impressive. “Seeing the actual Lego Movie set was amazing!” says Liam. The rides were fun but mostly meant for younger kids. It was a fun time.

The next day we went to The San Diego Zoo. We saw koalas, pandas, and sloths. What we saw that was amazing was the birth of a giraffe. We saw it drop, we saw it take it’s first steps, and we went back later to see it walking closely behind its mama. We saw a cheetah who’s best friend/companion animal was a dog. The monkeys were super silly; we didn’t get any pictures of that. The gorillas and the orangutan were also very impressive. I know they live at the zoo for different circumstances, and they provide educational opportunities; however, it ‘s hard to understand a life behind bars. It’s a large zoo with many animals I have never seen in person. My new favorite is the secretary bird.

We kept all our Christmas traditions in place the best we could. The boys wrote their letters to Santa and sent them at Macy’s. We went to Krispy Kreme for our annual donut run. The boys are obsessed with watching the donuts being made. Our elf Frostbite made his appearance, don’t judge.

The kids made friends with some other kids staying at the RV park. They had Ginny pigs; there was a lot of play time spent playing with “the pigs”. We met the best dog, Titan. We had lunch with an old friend I worked with about 25 years ago. We also saw our last west coast ocean sunset, at least until the end of the trip.
