November 16-19
Morro Dunes Campground

We weren’t sure what to expect here. What we got was a quaint fishing town with a great beach. We could ride our bikes 5 minutes away to the bay where there were docks and restaurants. There were sea otters in the bay, super cute. I could watch them all day. We also saw some lazy sea lions hanging in the water under the docks. Most of our free time here was spent walking on the beach and riding bikes. One day, after work/school, we went up the coast to San Simeon where there is an elephant seal rookery. We stayed there for more than an hour, watching the seals and talking to the man that volunteers there. He was full of great information. You really can learn something new every day.

We drove up to Hearst Castle to see if that was something we wanted to do later in the week. I had been there before, and I didn’t think the boys would appreciate it, so we decided to skip that one.

We went to Cambria for dinner at a place called Linn’s. We were told about it by a volunteer at the Monterey Aquarium. She said they had the best comfort food around, and the best Olallieberry pie. We didn’t know what that was, but it sounded like we had to have it. It was delicious; we rolled ourselves out of that place. Yummy!
