Los Angeles

November 30- December 10

Dockweiler State Beach

We’re back in L.A.; we just didn’t get enough time with our people the first time. We finally got to take a bike ride down the beach boardwalk; we had beautiful sunsets all the time, and we visited some more great places.

I was able to see a documentary, a labor of love, about a South Florida band I grew up listening to. I went with my life long friend Kim; it was a very emotional night. I was happy to be there.

Ken and I were able to have a date night thanks to Rudj. He took the boys out for dinner and a movie, and we got to go out for dinner and do a little Christmas shopping.

We went to Universal Studios, and it was a lot of fun, even though it seemed as though half the park was closed for renovations. One of the best experiences was seeing The Grinch. He was fantastic! The rides and the character experiences were a lot of fun also. The whole Grinchmas thing was worth the trip. Seeing Hogsmeade behind a sign that said, open in Spring of 2016, wasn’t so great.

We went to the California Science Center, field trip! What a fantastic museum. We weren’t able to see a lot of the museum because we went after school and work. We focused on the air & space exhibit and watched an IMAX movie, Journey to Space 3D. The space shuttle Endeavor is here. It’s in a warehouse, and you can walk underneath it and all around it, and it was mind-blowing. So far on this trip, it was one of our highlights.

One of our last day in L.A. we had a campfire on the beach. Our friends came to hang out with us, and it was incredible to have that time with them.

Oh, and all you can eat fried chicken, I almost forgot that!
