We made it to Sedona last night! We are staying at a little oasis in the middle of the desert, LoLoMai campground. It is a beautiful place with lots of trees, a pool, a stream, a pond and skunks and racoons that they feed every night. It’s a bit of a shock when you see them all together and have no idea they have adapted to people watching them.

We met up with our fellow wanderers and best friends. We went for a hike at Bell Rock. What a special place! It was one of those moments in life where everything lines up in the most perfect way. We hiked up the rocks, 5 kids and 4 adults, to look at Sedona from a birds-eye view. I wanted to stay up there longer than we were able to, so beautiful! We ended up finishing our hike in the dark, oops.

If you get a chance to go to Sedona, eat at Famous Pizza. The pizza and wings were the best we have had in a long time. They also have an excellent selection of micro-brews.

Perfect day!

It’s Friday! That means the kids have a much lighter load for school. Most of their work is done in 4 days. There was a bit of reading to catch up on, and Liam had a science experiment. Quinn was excited about that too, so he joined in and started learning with Liam.

We still have to run errands, and sometimes it feels like a lot. We had a grocery store run and a few other things we had to pick up. Then we went to meet our friends for another hike. We did get a late start, maybe 4:30 or so. It was a beautiful hike, we also lost track of time and ended up finishing the hike in the dark. We had to cross streams and find the path in the dark. I’ve never seen 5 kids move so fast for so long. We obviously made it out just fine and learned a lesson, keep track of the time.

The next day we went into the town of Sedona and met up with our friends again. We walked around the shops and got some very overpriced lunch. I think we were all a bit tired, so we went our separate ways. Sedona is beautiful, just stay away from the tourist shops, unless you’re looking for a healing crystal. We went back to our campground so the kids could go swimming, at that point, that’s all they wanted.
