Quartzsite

Quartzsite, AZ January 3-6 Boondocking Quartzsite is a place that exists mostly because of the RV industry. It’s the middle of the dessert and all there is here are RV’s and parts for RV’s and pop-up RV lots for an upcoming RV show. We thought we should it check out. It was interesting to see, but the big show wasn’t for a few more weeks, so we didn’t get to see it in full swing. We did stay out in the middle of the desert for four nights for free. There is something about being in the middle of...

Las Vegas

December 20- January 2, 2016 Thousand Trails Las Vegas It may seem like a strange place to spend a holiday like Christmas, but we have family here. This stop is officially a family stop; Las Vegas is just the backdrop. The RV park was not what I would call nice, at all. We spent most of our time out and about so we didn’t think about it too much. We spent time with family. My dad, mom and niece all flew in, and my uncle and cousin and her family live here. Borrego Springs

December 19 Palm Canyon Hotel & RV Resort We read about Borrego Springs online and knew that we needed to see these amazing metal sculptures in the middle of the desert. If you ever find your way to this part of California, this is a great place to stay. In addition, to the RV park it also had a cute hotel, however, if you want to do something a little different, they also have refurbished classic trailers you can stay in. Each one had a nice little set up with BBQ grills and outside sitting areas. The reason we...

San Diego

San Diego December 11- 18 Mission Bay RV Resort First stop, Legoland! The kids have been waiting for this one for a long time. The best thing about Legoland was all the things built with Lego, very impressive. “Seeing the actual Lego Movie set was amazing!” says Liam. The rides were fun but mostly meant for younger kids. It was a fun time. The next day we went to The San Diego Zoo. We saw koalas, pandas, and sloths. What we saw that was amazing was the birth of a giraffe. We saw it drop, we saw it take...

Los Angeles Part 2

Los Angeles November 30- December 10 Dockweiler State Beach We’re back in L.A.; we just didn’t get enough time with our people the first time. We finally got to take a bike ride down the beach boardwalk; we had beautiful sunsets all the time, and we visited some more great places. I was able to see a documentary, a labor of love, about a South Florida band I grew up listening to. I went with my life long friend Kim; it was a very emotional night. I was happy to be there.  Ken and I were able to have...
